Who we are:

We are a diverse collective devoted to Soulmaking in Nature.
To us, Nature is not limited to forests or mountains—it is all life taking form. From this living ground, we offer our three foundational pillars:

  • Training – cultivating the skills and sensibilities needed to engage soulfully with the world and include nature.

  • Rites of Passage – marking thresholds of transformation through ceremony, challenge, and reflection.

  • Communitas – nurturing authentic connection and belonging within a shared field of purpose.

Together, these pillars support a path of deep remembering—of self, of Earth, and of the sacred threads that bind us all.

  • Alexandra Hatfield

    Alexandra Hatfield

Lead Guide and Abbess of the Northern School of Soulmaking in Nature

Alexandra is most at home on a rock face, in the mountains or in deep, heartful communion with soulful kin. She is a transpersonal and somatic therapist, a seasoned group facilitator, and a learning designer whose work is rooted in the sacred interplay between psyche, body, and Earth.

Trained in psychosynthesis psychology, Alex is the author of an emerging body of work known as Eco-Psychosynthesis—a soul-centered practice discovered through nine years of exploration and pilgrimage with her first soulmaking venture, Wild Rites. She is rooted in Jungian dream and somatic body work and is trauma trained.

At the Northern School of Soulmaking in Nature, Alex serves as Abbess—a tongue in cheek title that speaks to her role as visionary, psycho-spiritual director, ritualist, and experiential learning designer. She holds the vision, the means, and the ways of soulmaking here, weaving together the threads of training, ceremony, rites of passage, and communitas into offerings that are wild, warm and reverent. Her work is deeply collaborative, supported by a devoted team without whom none of this would be possible.

Alex lives in the English Lake District, where the land itself is a beloved teacher. She travels far and wide in search of soulful experience and kinship with human and more-than-human alike.
